NANGARHAR -- Taliban insurgents in Nangarhar Province have executed one of their own leaders for alleged links with the "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) terrorist group, Khaama Press reported Monday (November 27) citing local officials.
The slaying took place in Sherzad District, said the provincial government media office in a statement.
The Taliban leader was Mawlavi Shukoor, according to local officials.
Militant groups had no immediate comment.
