NANGARHAR -- Taliban militants have killed the imam of a mosque in Nangarhar Province, Pajhwok Afghan News reported Tuesday (November 28), citing provincial officials.
The shooting occurred in Khogyani District Monday (November 27).
Qari Jamil was gunned down inside the mosque during evening prayers, said Ataullah Khogyani, spokesman for the provincial governor.
The Taliban have made no comment.
