Premature blast kills senior Pakistani Taliban leader planting IEDs in Kunar

KUNAR -- A senior leader of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) was killed by his own explosives in Kunar Province, Khaama Press reported Thursday (December 28).

TTP leader Jan Wali, also known as Ahmad Sheena, was killed in an explosion in Shaltan District Wednesday (December 27), said the 201st Silab Corps of the Afghan National Army (ANA).

Sheena and other militants were planting roadside bombs when one exploded, said ANA officials.

Sheena was involved in multiple acts of terrorism and was wanted in connection with various cases, according to Pakistani officials cited by local media outlets.

Early this month, a premature blast killed a Taliban leader in Laghman Province.
