MAZAR-E-SHARIF -- The Afghan National Defence and Security Forces (ANDSF) killed a Taliban commander, Mawlawi Jandullah, along with 18 other insurgents in an operation in Faryab Province, the 209th Shaheen Corps of the Afghan National Army said in a statement Tuesday (July 16).
At least nine other militants were wounded after Afghan forces targeted their hideout in Bilchiragh District, the army said without providing details on the timing of the operation.
The Taliban did not immediately comment.
