SAR-E-PUL -- Police in Sar-e-Pul Province killed a Taliban local commander who planned to cut off the ink-stained fingers of voters, the Interior Ministry said in a statement Monday (October 7).
The suspect, identified as Naser, had created a temporary checkpoint Monday morning alongside his fighters in the Tup Khana area of Sancharak District to rob commuters and cut off the fingers of those who voted in the presidential elections, said the statement.
The Taliban did not immediately comment.
