Turkmenistan wants to manufacture drones for security

ASHGABAT – Turkmenistan plans to begin manufacturing drones, not just use imported ones, in order to fight terrorism, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) reported recently, quoting Belarusian mass media. Turkmenistan and Belarus are significant trading partners.

Turkmenistan plans to use drones and dirigibles to police the most remote and inaccessible parts of its border, RFE/RL reported, quoting specialists at the Belarus Academy of Sciences. The country shares a land border with war-torn Afghanistan.

Turkmenistan bought its first Belarusian drones back in 2008.
