JAWZJAN, Afghanistan -- A three-day trip to Afghanistan by Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov was affected by a roadside bomb, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL)'s Pakistani service reported July 2. The dates of the trip were not reported.

Meredov's delegation went to Jawzjan Province, Afghanistan, to study the security situation on the other side of the Turkmen-Afghan border. However, the explosion of a roadside bomb forced Meredov to cancel his plans to break ground at a dam construction site, RFE/RL reported.
