WARSAW -- Canada and South Korea have promised to provide 39.4 billion AFN (US $575m) in aid to support the Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) and civilian development projects in Afghanistan, Khaama Press reported July 10.
Both countries made the commitments during NATO's July 8-9 Warsaw summit.
Korea will contribute 9.2 billion AFN (US $135m) total to aid capacity building of the ANSF from 2018 to 2020, Khaama Press quoted the Korean Herald as reporting.
Canada has agreed to provide 30 billion AFN (US $440m) total in aid to Afghanistan in the coming three years, the office of Afghan government CEO Abdullah Abdullah said in a statement.
The aid includes 11.6 billion AFN (US $170m) for the ANSF and 18.5 billion AFN (US $270m) for the civilian sector, the statement added.
