Afghan militants kill lawmaker's guard, ALP commander in Kapisa, Paktia

KABUL -- A commander of the Afghan Local Police (ALP) and an Afghan lawmaker's guard were killed recently, while a militant bomb injured five schoolchildren and a teacher.

The bomb exploded recently in the sixth-grade classroom of a school in Khost city, Khaama Press reported, quoting local educators.

Terrorists July 10 in Kohistan-2 District, Kapisa Province, fatally shot a bodyguard of member of parliament Habib Afghan, provincial government spokesman Qais Qaderi told Pajhwok Afghan News.

The guard was killed and his brother was wounded, but one terrorist died in the shoot-out, Qaderi said.

A roadside bomb July 11 in Ahmad Abad District, Paktia Province, killed Mer Aslam Dorandesh, a commander of the ALP, provincial police chief Brig. Gen. Qader Gul Zadran told Pajhwok Afghan News.
