KABUL -- Five Afghans, including three troops, were killed in recent violence nationwide, media reported.
A Taliban rocket attack August 18 in Asadabad, Kunar Province, killed at least two Afghans, Khaama Press reported, quoting provincial Governor Wahidullah Kalimzai.
Separately, a remote-controlled bomb in Pasaband District, Ghor Province, August 18 killed at least three soldiers, Pajhwok Afghan News reported. The troops were on patrol when the bomb went off.
Meanwhile, Afghan troops recently re-opened the Baghlan-to-Kunduz highway after conducting a large-scale operation, TOLO News reported August 19.
