URUZGAN -- Kandahar provincial police chief Gen. Abdul Raziq arrived in Tirin Kot, Uruzgan Province, September 8 to lead the battle against the Taliban, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) confirmed, according to TOLO News.
Raziq brought reinforcements from Kandahar and the coalition sent air support, MoI spokesman Sediq Sediqqi said, adding that the Taliban have come under air strikes outside Tirin Kot.
Officials in Tirin Kot acknowledge the reinforcements, who include more than 100 commandos.
