KABUL -- A former commander of the Gulbuddin Hekmatyar-led Hezb-e-Islami (HI) Afghanistan party Wednesday (December 14) returned to Kabul after more than 10 years of imprisonment in the United Kingdom, TOLO News reported.
Security forces took Zardad Faryadi to an undisclosed location after he arrived in Kabul.
Faryadi was jailed for his involvement in torture during the civil war in the 1990s.
HI signed a peace agreement with the Afghan government in September.
