Peace with Taliban 'possible', Abdullah says

Staff Report

KABUL -- There have been a number of positive developments in the peace process and reconciliation with the Taliban, but peace is only possible if the group's training camps and sanctuaries are eliminated, Afghan government Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah told a visiting European Parliament (EP) delegation, Khaama Press reported Thursday (February 23).

Abdullah highlighted the ongoing success of Afghan forces against terrorist groups in the country.

The EP delegation hailed the Afghan government for conducting reforms and assured Kabul of its support for peace and stability.
