Helmand police officer kills 11 colleagues

HELMAND, Afghanistan -- A policeman killed at least 11 other officers in Helmand Province Monday (February 27), TOLO News reported.

The rogue officer fatally shot his colleagues at a check-post in Lashkargah, sources said, and then fled the scene.

Meanwhile, the Taliban early Tuesday (February 28) began besieging Tala Wa Barfak District, Baghlan Province, district governor Faiz Mohammad Amiri confirmed, according to TOLO News.

The police are fighting back, he said.
