22 ISIL, Taliban militants killed in Jawzjan, Uruzgan

SHEBERGHAN -- At least 22 militants and a policeman were killed in violence in Jawzjan and Uruzgan provinces.

The designated "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) chief for two Jawzjan districts was among 11 militants killed in combat in Jawzjan Province Tuesday (April 11), said provincial police chief Rahmatullah Turkistani, according to Pajhwok Afghan News.

Meanwhile, security forces killed at least 11 Taliban in an operation in Khas District, Uruzgan Province, Wednesday (April 12), said officials.

One policeman was killed in the Uruzgan fighting, reported TOLO News.
