ISIL, Taliban militants clash in Jawzjan, 91 dead

KABUL -- Militants from the "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) and the Taliban engaged in an extended firefight in Jawzjan Province, leaving 91 dead, Khaama Press reported Wednesday (April 27).

Local officials say the clashes, which so far has killed 76 Taliban and 15 ISIL members, started Tuesday but are still ongoing, said provincial governor's spokesman Mohammad Reza Ghafoori.

Neither of the groups have commented about the incident.
