BAMIYAN -- President Ashraf Ghani inaugurated construction of the 178km-long, second phase of the National North-South Corridor Thursday (May 18), TOLO News reported.
The highway will connect Dara-e-Sof District, Samangan Province, to Yakawlang District, Bamiyan Province, and bring economic benefits, said Ghani at a ceremony in Bamiyan.
The already completed first phase links Mazar-e-Sharif to Yakawlang.
The government is planning and surveying for a third phrase of the project, which would link Bamiyan Province to Kandahar Province.
