JALALABAD -- Taliban and "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" militants battled furiously for control of the Tora Bora cave complex in Pacheragam District, Nangarhar Province, officials said Wednesday (June 7).
A number of local families fled the area for their own safety, said provincial governor Mohammad Gulab Mangal at a news conference, according to Pajhwok Afghan News.
So far, seven militants and two civilians have been killed, according to Ataullah Khogyani, Mangal's spokesman.
