12 militants killed in Bagdhis, Jawzjan

BADGHIS -- Internecine and government-militant battles left 12 militants dead in Afghanistan.

Rival Taliban groups Friday (July 7) turned their guns on each other in Jawand District, Badghis Province, killing seven militants, Khaama Press reported Saturday (July 8).

Four loyalists of supreme commander Mullah Haibatullah Akhundzada and three supporters of rival Mullah Rasool were killed, according to the Badghis provincial government.

The Afghan air force in Jawzjan Province killed five "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) commanders who were travelling by car, said the National Directorate for Security, according to a Sunday (July 9) Afghanistan Times report.
