KABUL -- The Afghan air force is requesting full responsibility for maintaining its own A-29 Super Tucano attack aircraft, Khaama Press reported Monday (July 31).
Afghanistan's A-29 maintenance personnel "are progressing at a faster rate than we initially believed", said A-29 maintenance adviser Master Sgt. Jonathan Vickery, who is stationed with the 440th Air Expeditionary Advisor Squadron.
Afghan allies are working to accelerate gains in capacity of the Afghan air force.
