JALALABAD -- Troops killed 33 Taliban militants who attacked Barg-i-Matal District, Nuristan Province, Monday (September 11), reported Pajhwok Afghan News.
The Taliban attacked district headquarters but encountered a prompt response from security forces, said officials.
One soldier and two civilians were killed.
Air strikes accounted for many militant deaths, according to Nuristan police.
