SAR-E-PUL -- At least five Taliban militants were killed and two were wounded in air strikes conducted by the Afghan Air Force in Sar-e-Pul province, Khaama Press reported Thursday (October 12), citing local officials.
A-29 fighter planes hit Taliban hideouts in the Mirza Olang area of Sayad district, according to the 209th Shaheen Corps of the Afghan National Army.
A local Taliban leader identified as Mullah Syed Ahmad was among those killed, said the unit.
There was no immediate comment from the Taliban.
