Afghan air strike kills 6 Taliban militants in Sar-e-Pul

SAR-E-PUL -- An Afghan air strike killed at least six Taliban militants and wounded seven others in Sar-e-Pul Province, Pajhwok Afghan News reported Friday (February 23).

The strike, which took place in the Nimdan area near Sar-e-Pul city, killed two militant commanders identified as Mullah Ismail and Qari Samiullah, said provincial governor Mohammad Zahir Wahdat.

After the air strike, Afghan security forces rescued an Afghan National Army (ANA) commando who had been kidnapped by the Taliban, according to Wahdat.
