SAR-E-PUL -- At least 10 militants were killed in Sar-e-Pul Province, Pajhwok Afghan News reported Monday (April 10).
Troops killed nine militants during Operation Al-burz in Sayad District and one on the outskirts of Sar-e-Pul city, said provincial Governor Mohammad Zahir Wahdat Monday, adding that the dead included a commander who recently joined the "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL).
Security forces detained a suspect with arms and ammunition, including 2,000 bullets, in Charikar, Parwan Province, according to police.
