BALKH -- At least six members of the Afghan Local Police (ALP) were killed in a Taliban attack Wednesday (October 18) on a check-point in Balkh Province, Pajhwok News Agency reported Thursday (October 19), citing local officials.
The attack took place in Chamtal District, said local police, adding that the check-point commander was among the dead.
The militants fled the scene. One of their commanders was killed, said provincial police. The Taliban had no comment.
