GORNO-BADAKHSHAN AUTONOMOUS PROVINCE, Tajikistan -- Tajik authorities have arrested a suspected Afghan drug trafficker who was carrying more than 10kg of illegal drugs in Darvoz District, Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Province (GBAO), the Tajik Drug Control Agency (AKN) reported Wednesday (October 25).
AKN officials stationed in Darvoz District arrested the Afghan national as he was illegally entering Tajik territory, according to the AKN.
Drugs in his possession included 7.7kg of opium and 21 grams of heroin, said the AKN.
Police are holding the suspect as the investigation proceeds, said the AKN.
