Security forces arrest Taliban leader in Takhar

TAKHAR -- Afghanistan's National Directorate of Security (NDS) says its operatives have arrested a key Taliban leader in an operation in Takhar Province, TOLOnews reported Wednesday (November 29).

Qari Abdul Rahim, who was identified as the Taliban leader of Namak Aab District, was arrested alongside another Taliban fighter in Taloqan city, said the NDS in a statement Wednesday.

The detained leader confessed his involvement in several terrorist activities, including providing weapons and explosives for potential terror attacks in the province, the statement said.
