KABUL -- Fifty members of "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) were killed in combat in Nangarhar Province, the Defence Ministry said in a statement Wednesday (December 27).
The operation destroyed an ISIS base and three ammunition depots in Achin District, said the statement, adding that it took place in a 24-hour span.
Troops also killed 20 insurgents in two districts in Helmand Province, according to the ministry.
