JALALABAD -- Forces from the National Directorate of Security (NDS) stormed a key hideout of the "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS)'s Khorasan branch (ISIS-K) in Nangarhar Province, reported Khaama Press Friday (August 24), quoting a statement by the provincial government.
The raid took place Wednesday (August 22) in Chaparhar District, said the statement, adding that the NDS killed at least one ISIS member and arrested two others.
ISIS used the hideout to launch attacks on Jalalabad, according to the statement.
The NDS rounded up six other suspects accused of links to ISIS.
In addition, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) tweeted Friday about air strikes that killed ISIS-K members. Five ISIS members were killed in Khogyani District, Nangarhar Province, as well as two ISIS members in Narang District, Kunar Province, according to the MoD.
