KABUL -- Security forces Monday (July 16) shot and wounded a would-be suicide bomber in Kabul before he was able to reach his target, BBC Persian reported.
The suspect planned to blow himself up among supporters of the Junbish-e-Mili party who were demonstrating in Shahr-e-Naw park, said police spokesman Hashmat Stanikzai.
Police took the suspect to the hospital, Stanikzai said.
No group immediately claimed responsibility.
