Taliban military commission chief in Faryab succumbs to wounds

KABUL -- Qari Yusuf, chief of the Taliban's military commission for Khwaja Sabz Posh, Shirin Tagab and Dawlatabad districts, Faryab Province, died of wounds he sustained during an operation conducted by Afghan forces in Shirin Tagab, the Interior Ministry reported in a statement Monday (November 5).

Afghan forces ambushed Yusuf, who is also known as Haqyar, two days ago, the statement said.

The insurgent "was involved in major destructive and terrorist attacks in Faryab", the statement added.
