Afghan forces repel Taliban attacks in Faryab, kill 2 militants

MAZAR-E-SHARIF -- Afghan forces with support from local residents repelled Taliban attacks on security check-posts in Faryab Province, killing at least two militants, the 209th Shaheen Corps of the Afghan National Army said in a statement Wednesday (November 21).

The militants launched their attacks at about 2pm in the Shirin Tagab and Dawlatabad districts, said the statement. Three militants were wounded.

The Taliban did not immediately comment.
