Taliban, ISIS militants surrender in Nangarhar

LAGHMAN -- Three Taliban militants and one member of "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) surrendered to authorities Wednesday (January 16) in Nangarhar Province, the 201st Silab Corps of the Afghan National Army said in a statement Thursday (January 17).

The militants gave themselves up in Bati Kot District along with their weapons.

The surrenders came after joint operations launched by Afghan forces in Ghani Khel District freed almost 34 villages from the Taliban's oppression and violence, as of January 11.
