FARYAB -- Afghan special forces destroyed a Taliban tunnel in Faryab Province, killing at least 15 militants, the Special Operations Corps said in a statement Wednesday (June 19).
The operation took place in Tapa-e-Qeshlaq village of Khwaja Sabz Posh District, said the statement, without providing details on the timing.
The Taliban shadow district deputy governor, identified as Hajji Sayeedi alias Mubarez, was among those killed, according to the statement.
At least 13 other militants were wounded, it added.
