MAZAR-E-SHARIF -- Afghan forces have killed at least 396 Taliban militants in the past two weeks in the northern parts of the country, the 209th Shaheen Corps of the Afghan National Army said in a statement Tuesday (July 2).
The militants were killed during various operations in Faryab, Jawzjan, Sar-e-Pul and Balkh provinces, said the statement.
At least 201 militants were wounded and 21 arrested, the statement said.
Those killed included 51 local Taliban commanders, it added.
