KABUL -- Taliban insurgents will target the sites, employees and subscribers of the Salaam Telecommunication Co., the Taliban said in a Monday (August 26) statement.
The militants vowed to take action against anyone who possesses a Salaam Telecom subscriber identity module (SIM) card and to sever fiber optic cables in the country, according to the statement.
Network antennas enable government authorities to track insurgent movements, say the Taliban.
