28 Afghans, including 2 policemen, killed in violence

KABUL -- Recent violence in Afghanistan left at least 28 Afghans dead, including two police officers, media reported.

A roadside bomb in Dangam District, Kunar Province, Monday (December 12) night killed a border police commander, Lt. Col. Wali Jan, and his bodyguard, provincial police chief Maj. Gen. Jumah Gul Himmat told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Insurgents recently assassinated a policeman and his uncle in Nish District, Kandahar Province, an official said Monday (December 12), according to Pajhwok Afghan News.

Meanwhile, forces recently killed 10 Taliban in Nuristan Province, Pajhwok Afghan News reported Monday (December 12), quoting provincial Governor Hafiz Abdul Qayum.

An air strike near Lashkargah, Helmand Province, killed 14 militants recently, Khaama Press reported Monday (December 12), quoting the Ministry of Defence.
