ISIL kidnaps 13 seminary teachers, burns 20 houses in Nangarhar

JALALABAD -- "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) militants reportedly kidnapped 13 teachers of a religious school and torched 20 houses in Nangarhar Province, media reported.

ISIL abducted the teachers in Haska Mina District Sunday (January 15), the governor's spokesman Ataullah Khogyani told Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty.

Authorities are trying to recover the teachers safely and soon, Khogyani added.

Meanwhile, ISIL militants Sunday (January 15) set fire to 20 houses in Kot District, district governor Hajji Syed Rahman said Monday (January 16), Afghanistan Times reported.

Two days ago, ISIL torched 65 houses in the same district, according to Afghanistan Times.
