Taliban militants kill 14 troops in Helmand

HELMAND -- Taliban militants ambushed and killed at least 14 Afghan troops in Helmand Province, TOLOnews reported Thursday (December 14) citing provincial officials.

The security personnel were carrying out a mission to arrest drug traffickers in a remote area when the Taliban attacked, said Helmand Governor Hayatullah Hayat.

The Taliban had no immediate comment.
