NANGARHAR -- The Taliban claimed responsibility for the assassination of the acting governor of Ghani Khel District in Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan's 1TV channel reported Monday (June 18).
Gunmen ambushed Subhanullah Khetab Monday on his way to work, said the provincial media office said in a statement.
The killing came after the government extended its ceasefire with the Taliban for another 10 days.
