KABUL -- Security forces detained the Taliban's suspected shadow governor of Panjshir Province Tuesday (July 24), Khaama Press reported.
The suspect, identified as Agha Mir, was arrested that night in Aabshar District, said Najamullah Rezayee, the provincial police intelligence chief.
The arrest came after a coalition air strike Monday (July 23) in Kapisa Province that killed more than 12 Taliban commanders, including the provincial shadow governor.
The Taliban in a statement confirmed the death of its shadow governor for Kapisa.
