KABUL -- The US launched its first air strikes against the Taliban since a rare ceasefire between the insurgents and Afghan forces ended more than a week ago, the US military said Friday (June 5).

The two assaults took place Thursday (June 4) and Friday in separate provinces in Afghanistan, US forces spokesman Sonny Leggett said on Twitter.

"These were the 1st US airstrikes against (the Taliban) since the start of the Eid ceasefire," he wrote.

"We reiterate: All sides must reduce violence to allow the peace process to take hold," he added.

Ten members of the Afghan forces were killed June 5 in a separate attack targeting a Humvee vehicle, the Interior Ministry said, blaming the assault on the Taliban.

The Taliban announced a surprise three-day ceasefire with Afghan forces that ended on May 26 to mark Eid ul Fitr.

There has since been an overall drop in violence across the country, with the Afghan government saying it is ready to start long-delayed peace talks with the insurgents.

Washington signed a landmark deal with the Taliban in February, in which it pledged to withdraw all US troops in return for security guarantees in a bid to pave the way for negotiations between warring Afghan sides.

The Taliban have largely refrained from launching major attacks on Afghan cities since the deal was signed but have continued to target Afghan forces.

Under the agreement, which excluded the Afghan government, Washington and the militants said they would refrain from attacking each other.

However, the US military in May said it would continue to conduct defensive strikes against the Taliban when they attack Afghan partners.

It is of no use to launch operations. Often civilians are killed in the operations, but not Taliban. If the United States really wanted to destroy Taliban, it could have destroyed them over the past 20 years. The United States could destroy Taliban without a war or airstrikes in Afghanistan. A very simple way to eliminate Taliban was to dry up Taliban's financial resources. If the United States had done so, now Taliban would not have existed. Taliban make most of their war money by cultivating and smuggling drugs, and also Pakistan pays for them. If the United States had both banned drug cultivation in Afghanistan and imposed economic sanctions on Pakistan, there would have been no Taliban, but the United States did not do that. The United States gave millions of dollars to Pakistan to eliminate the terrorists, but Pakistan spent all the money granted by the United States in funding and training terrorists. The United States made a very big mistake.

Taliban themselves are the creations of America. So America will never want to remove Taliban from the scene. Removing Taliban means end of America’s empire in Afghanistan. If the United States wants peace and tranquility in Afghanistan, I don't think it will take a long time. It will be done just in a short time; therefore, the United States will never let Afghanistan achieve peace and tranquility. This was my personal opinion.

Who are Taliban and Afghan government? why aren't they make peace between themselves. When you are calling yourselves Taliban and holy warriors and Islam, why you are not signing peace agreement with Afghans and Muslims as you are dealing with non-Muslims over the Afghan Muslims. Is this your Islam? is this your jihad? When you are living in one country or other to get money; however, when it comes to the government, you are saying that it is paid by America. who are paying you. It is legitimate for you even when you are eating shit of the pigs.

As long as this type of attacks are not launched against the mother of terrorists (Pakistan), this terror and killing of humans will go on, this will get expanded, and the rest of the world will also be in danger. If you really want to end the terror, you may launch attacks at the military and intelligence centers of Pakistan, and destroy it so that terror is eliminated.

I think the United States will make a big mistake if they launch airstrikes against Taliban fighters, as this will cause Taliban too to violate from the peace agreement they have signed with the United States and target US forces in every corner of Afghanistan. If that happens, then they (American forces) will not leave Afghanistan. There was little hope for the Afghan people that the United States would withdraw its troops and forces from Afghanistan, and perhaps this would pave the way for the start of Intra-Afghan talks, because over the past 20 years, Taliban's only proposal for the start of peace talks was that the foreign troops had to leave Afghanistan, then the group would be ready to hold talks with the Afghan government. Therefore, conducting airstrikes by American forces in Afghanistan is not for the benefit of Afghanistan. If the United States fights in Afghanistan for another 20 years, it will not be able to win the war. The US presence in Afghanistan will exacerbate the war. The United States must leave Afghanistan as soon as possible and make Taliban and the Afghan government form a joint government; otherwise, peace in the country will be impossible.

The whole news has filled a complete page with (this said, that said, you said, I said). The exact place of the attack, the exact loss of the attack, the exact time of the attack, the exact reason of the attack are not known. It is just you said, he (this) said, he (that) said.
