HERAT, Afghanistan -- Afghan troops have killed about 234 insurgents in Herat Province in the past three months, Pajhwok Afghan News reported June 22.
The operations took place in Herat city and in five provincial districts, provincial police chief Abdul Majid Rozi said.
Security forces made 278 terror-related arrests during that time, he said, adding that they suffered no casualties in carrying out the operations.
