Afghan forces kill 30 militants; roadside bomb kills 4

KABUL -- Security forces recently killed at least 30 militants in Nangarhar Province, while a roadside bomb killed at least four Afghans in Balkh Province, media reported.

Troops conducting air and ground raids in Haska Mina District, Nangarhar Province, killed at least 30 Taliban, the provincial police said in an August 25 statement, according to Khaama Press.

A roadside bomb in Khulm District, Balkh Province, August 25 killed at least four people, the provincial chief of security, Gen. Abdul Raziq Qaderi, told TOLO News.

The explosion took place while member of parliament Asadullah Sharifi was crossing the area, Qaderi said. Sharifi escaped harm, but two bodyguards were injured.
