KABUL -- Muslims in Afghanistan celebrated Eid ul Adha September 12 as Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, in his Eid message, expressed his hopes for nationwide peace and harmony, TOLO News reported.
Ghani lauded a recent peace initiative from the Hezb-e-Islami Afghanistan (HI) party and said he expected a deal with HI in the near future.
"Peace is the hope of the Afghan nation," he said.
All political leadership should work sincerely for peace in Afghanistan, Ghani said, adding that he was praying for all security personnel who gave their lives.
