4 militants killed, 3 arrested in Afghanistan

KABUL -- A Taliban leader and a suicide bomber were among four militants recently killed in Afghanistan, media reported.

Security forces November 21 killed three Taliban in Laghman Province, including a commander, provincial governor's spokesman Sarhadi Zwak told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Also in Laghman Province, security forces apprehended three Taliban disguised as refugees returning from Peshawar, Pakistan, the Ministry of Interior said November 22, according to Khaama Press.

Meanwhile, security forces in Sar-e-Pul city gunned down a would-be suicide bomber before he could target the provincial governor and provincial intelligence chief, Sar-e-Pul provincial governor's spokesman Zabiullah Amani said November 21, according to Khaama Press.

The governor and intelligence chief were making an official visit, Amani said.
