Taliban militants, ISIL commander killed in Afghan operations

KABUL -- More than a dozen Taliban members and an "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) commander were killed during recent operations in Ghazni and Nangarhar provinces.

Troops killed at least 16 Taliban recently in Ab Band District, Ghazni Province, provincial police chief Brig. Gen. Aminullah Amarkhil told Pajhwok Afghan News on November 30.

The fleeing Taliban left six comrades' bodies on the battlefield, he said, adding that a local anti-militant uprising force fought alongside the troops.

In another operation in Achin District, Nangarhar Province, troops on November 30 killed an ISIL commander, according to Khaama Press.
