KABUL -- Several militants were killed and a key Taliban leader caught in Kapisa and Laghman provinces, media reported.
Nine militants killed in Operation Ghubar 7 in Tagab District, Kapisa Province, included a Taliban shadow deputy governor of the province, Afghan National Army (ANA) Maj. Sher Aqa Faqiri told Pajhwok Afghan News Monday (March 20).
An unspecified number of Taliban militants were killed or wounded by an Afghan air force raid in Alingar District, Laghman Province, Monday, said the provincial government in a statement, according to a Monday story by Khaama Press.
National Directorate of Security (NDS) personnel arrested a Taliban leader in the Kala Kot area of Laghman Province, Khaama Press reported Monday.
The detainee was involved in planting land mines, said the NDS.
