Afghanistan to introduce e-voting

KABUL -- The Afghan government is introducing an electronic voting system to ensure transparent elections and to cut costs, according to specialists and government Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah's office, TOLO News reported Tuesday (March 28).

The government is conducting talks with the international community on instituting e-voting, said Abdullah spokesman Javid Faisal.

Modern voting technology will reduce vote rigging, said Afghan e-voting specialist Sayed Khalid.
