Staff Report

KABUL -- A Kabul primary school with about 9,000 pupils lacks a building and other facilities, TOLO News reported Monday (April 3).

The Faiz Mohammad Kateb Primary School has children attending classes in three shifts, sitting in the dirt in all weather.

Local residents and teachers complained of writing at least 20 letters to the Education Ministry without any action.

The ministry has rented a building for the school's use, said Muhammad Kabir Haqmal, a spokesman for the ministry.
